“Don’t tell me Tommy forgot about dinner?” Kimberly asked, somewhat amused. She knew Tommy was forgetful, but this was a little extreme.

“No, he’s here Kim. That’s his jeep.” Jason said, gesturing behind them. Kimberly took a quick glance over her shoulder. She hadn’t noticed the car when they arrived, either. But it obviously meant he was home.

Jason and Kimberly were right, sort of. Tommy hadn’t forgotten about dinner, but he had lost track of time. He had finished making the shrimp fettuccine, salad and garlic bread before he realized he hadn’t pick up any wine. As he was returning home, taking a short cut he used whenever he was running late, he had seen Jason’s car pass him. Tommy knew Kimberly was obviously in the car with Jason, and he wasn’t quite ready to see her yet.Tommy was sitting in his room, doing homework by a flashlight. Terrible thunderstorms had been raging over Angel Grove all day, the worst hitting in the evening. One particularly strong bolt of lightning had hit the Oliver house, not only knocking out power, but the phone line as well. As Tommy finished the last trigonometry problem, he got a terrible feeling in the pit of his stomach. He glanced up at his clock; the digits read 10:00 PM. He knew Kimberly should have been back home by now, but he also knew she usually stayed late to practice. He had a terrible feeling something had gone terribly wrong, but he couldn’t call her.

The hours passed by; still no call from Kimberly. It didn’t help that the phone line was still out. Tommy was worried. She’d never missed their nightly talks. He’d never missed their nightly talks. Even if she was safe, he couldn’t find out. He was stuck without any kind of communication. Tommy spent the night in agony as the storm outside raged on. It’s power increased with the crying of the falcon mixing with the striking pain of the crane."Stop singing." Jareth had been singing for miles, and his voice, while fairly good, tended to grate after a while, especially when he got into the Disney songs.

"Oh, a music critic. Lovely. Shall I tell jokes instead?"

Deacon grinned under his helmet. "Oh, please do."

"Very well. A lesbian, a nun, and a sanitation worker walk into a bar..."
