“They’re in my car, let me go grab them.” Tommy said as he made his way out the door. “Just go ahead and set yours in the kitchen!” He called out to Jason as he approached his jeep. Kimberly hadn’t said a word since Tommy answered the door. She just watched him. He looked good. His hair was short now, in tiny chocolate spikes, topping his chiseled features. His skin was tan, complimenting his dark shirt perfectly. He was still in incredible shape, from what Kimberly could tell. His toned arms, filling out the sleeves of his shirt, his defined chest, peeking out slightly from where his shirt was unbuttoned. And his butt, filling out the seat of his khakis beautifully.
She wanted to remind him that she was there. She just didn’t have the courage. He looked gorgeous, and healthy and happy. Why was she here again? What was the purpose of this evening? She continued to silently watch him as he reached for the wine bottles in his passenger seat.
Tommy could feel her eyes on him. He had noticed her again when he had answered the door and greeted Jason. A little disappointed that she hadn’t been right there to greet him too. Luckily for him, he had forgotten the wine in his car. As he finished grabbing the bottles, he hesitated for a moment. He wanted to remind her that he was there and had noticed her. But he didn’t want to scare her off. They were just getting started. He thought the element of sweet surprise would be the best tactic.Kimberly was a wreck. Her dreams, shattered, gone. No Pan Globals, no Olympics, no more gymnastics. She sobbed and sobbed. “Mom look at me, look at what I’ve done to myself. This is terrible, the worst possible thing to ever happen to me! I’ve ruined myself completely!”
Her mother sat on the edge of the bed, and pulled her daughter’s head to her breast. She ran her fingers through Kimberly’s hair. “Shhh…. Kimberly… this doesn’t change who you are. You’re still the same sweet girl that everyone loves. No one is going to hate you for what happened, especially not your friends. They love you no matter what. Just like I love you. And I always will.”
“My friends don’t know about this. Oh god… Tommy. Tommy doesn’t know yet. What will he think when he sees me like this?” wailed Kimberly. She sobbed harder. It was one thing to deal with her friends, but Tommy… If Kimberly had been thinking rationally, she wouldn’t have had to worry about what Tommy would think. However, Kimberly was thinking irrationally and her views on life were very different than what they should have been. One fighter, winged by a stray bast, crashed into the street and skidded to a halt, but it's blinking lights and still-firing weapons indicated that it was still operating. It's aiming mechanism seemed damaged, though, as it kept firing at the same mailbox. Tommy simply stomped on it.
The final fighter, registering that it was the only remaining one in it's squadron, turned about and shot into the air, heading for deep space.
"Mara?" The Blue Ranger....Jared?...said.
"On it." Pterodactyl shot into the sky, lasers lancing out as she tried to lock on to the fighter.
The two were soon out of sight above the clouds. Moments later, a single craft fell through the crowd cover.....Pterodactyl, leaving behind a thick trail of black smoke and approaching the ground at an increasingly unsafe speed.
