Tommy noticed Kimberly’s muffled sobs. His first instinct was to run over to her and embrace her. But his ego wouldn’t let him. He was hurt, and he was angry. Instead, he remained in his spot, clenching his tight fingers around the object in his hand.

“I’m sorry, Tommy.” Kimberly whispered. “I shouldn’t have sent it to Ernie’s. That was in bad taste.”

“You’re damn right it was.” He said harshly. He had wanted to say more but when Kimberly raised her head to look at him he couldn’t. Pride be damned. She didn’t deserve that. He knew he would regret the things he said later, but 10 years of anger was getting the better of him.Kimberly then began to tell her story and everything her mother and Dr. Matthews had told her up until that point in time. Trini let her friend pour her heart out; that was the best route to go with Kimberly. Trini was shocked and saddened at the same time. She never expected something like this to happen to her best friend. She remembered back when they were kids how Kimberly would dream of being an Olympic gymnast and Trini would take about being a genius with computers who brought peace to the entire world. Sure, they were what, eight years old, but the dreams still held true, until Kimberly’s was shattered. “Oh Kimberly…. Do you want me to come visit?”

“You have classes, remember?”        Tommy jumped as alarms suddenly blared throughout the bridge of the Oasis.

         "My, this IS interesting...," Zord-1 said, sounding a bit concerned.

         "What is it?" the Yellow Ranger asked, cocking her head to the side.

         "See for yourself, Terina," the sentient computer replied, as the screen at the front of the room sprang to life.

         A city street seemed to be under siege by a number of....Tommy blinked.

“I don’t care about my classes when you’ve been in something as serious as this. It’s only the first summer session; I can take more classes during the second one. You need me more than I need to be hitting the books.”

A few silent tears fall. Kimberly is thankful for having a friend like Trini. “If you want to…”

“I’m going to, and you can’t stop me. Have you talked to the rest of the gang yet? Does Tommy know?”

“You have every right to be angry with me.” Kim said calmly. “But I never lied to you. And I’m sorry that we never spoke about this until now. I know going all those years without some sort of closure must have been frustrating. It was for me, and I did the breaking up. I just never thought it would be so difficult to talk to you about this after all the time that’s gone by.”
