Tommy thought about it for a moment then reached over and gave Kimberly a gentle hug. She refused at first but then slowly let his arms engulf her tiny body.
“Kim, it’s going to be awkward for a while.” He said, laughing as he embraced her. His chest rattled softly against her cheek, making her giggle too.
He pulled out of the hug but his hands remained on her shoulders. “We’ll talk more at lunch okay?”Dr. Matthews interrupted again. “Well, now that is fairly sorted out, Kimberly, how was your lesson with the nurse? You seem to be doing well.”
Psycho Green summoned a twisted dagger, twirling it in her left hand and weilding her crystal saber in her right. Lolli drew the Dragon dagger from its sheath at her belt. The two green rangers began a blindingly fast melee struggle, and the striking of blade against blade rang out so quickly it could have been mistaken for machine gun fire. Finally, Lolli fell back, clutching at a slowly healing rent in her armor just below the golden shield. Psycho Green had simply been better.
Stephen and Psycho White went at things with a bit more style, parrying and thrusting like master fencers. Unfortunately, Psycho White had the advantage of having two weapons as opposed to Stephen's one, and Psycho White wasn't bound by the restraints of sportsmanship.
"You're cheating!" Saba exclaimed. "We'd beat you easily in fair fight!"
"Well, that's not much incentive for me to fight fair, then, is it?" Psycho White asked ironically, delivering one final backhanded swipe of his scimitar that sliced neatly into Stephen's torso. The White Ranger fell to the ground, unable to fight more until his wounds healed.
“I caught on easily and she left me alone in the lounge. I met a little boy there named Jayden.”
“Jayden is another one of my patients. He’s quite the happy little boy. I see you’ve been given one of his birthday stuffed animals,” noted the doctor, nodding toward the red tiger.
“Yes he gave me it because he said he wanted me to be happy. He’s invited me to his birthday party tonight.”
Dr. Matthews laughed. “He’s invited everyone on this floor just about, including me. He loves socializing.”
Students had begun to file into the auditorium. Tommy quickly released his grasp of Kimberly as grabbed her schedule once more. “So Miss Hart like the organ but without the ‘e’, You’re third period class is located in room A207, which will be your normal classroom for both Speech and English. I trust you can find your way to the second floor?” He asked, attempting to appear as professional as possible, hoping no one noticed the intimate closeness he had shared with their new teacher a few seconds ago. He returned her schedule sheet once more and nodded, making his way up the aisle toward the door.
