“Glad to know I have that affect on you.” Tommy said smiling he remembered how he abruptly kissed Kimberly in his kitchen, only to have her run out of the room seconds later. Kimberly giggled and threw a potato chip at him, which he caught in his mouth and crunched noisily. She laughed some more. “I know. I’m sorry. God, what a head case you must think I am.” She said, wrinkling her nose.
“I don’t think you’re crazy, Kim. I thought you hated me.” Tommy said, taking a bite of his sandwich.“It was a terrible nightmare Trini. I’ve had them a lot since I’ve been here.”Jareth whooped as he made the Astro Megaship loop through the air like a roller coaster.
Myk climbed back to his feet. "Please don't do that again."
"Oh, you're no fun."
"This is no time be having fun. That Megazord wont be down forever."
"Okay, okay. Now lemmeesee....Ah, here it is..." The Gold Ranger keyed in a few more controls, adjusting the intensity of the megalaser cannons and bringing them to bear on the Predazord.
The high-powered heat from the lasers melted most of the ice, and the Predazord shook free, shards of ice still falling from its joints.
"There." Jareth opened a communications channel to the Predazord. "Feeling better?"
Trini hugged Kimberly tighter. “Well, I’m just glad that one’s over. You had me worried there for a second.”
“Sorry. Usually no one is around when I wake up.”
Trini’s face grew more serious. “Now are you going to tell me why you’ve kept everything a secret?”
Kimberly sighed. She knew Trini wouldn’t beat around the bush. “It’s a long story and it started with my mom….”
“I like long stories, Kim. There’s no way you’re getting out of this one.”
“It’s just…. I don’t want everyone to have to deal with me like this, or to have to worry about me. I don’t even want to deal with me like this.”
“I couldn’t hate you if I tried, handsome.” She said breathlessly. She leaned in, bracing her herself with the table. Tommy crept his face closer to hers before placing a dollop of mustard on Kimberly’s nose. “Good.” He whispered back. Kimberly flinched at the sensation of the substance on her face. “Eww, gross!” She squealed. Tommy sat back and laughed. She quickly wiped the yellow off her nose with a napkin. “Way to kill the mood Tommy!” She growled, throwing her dirty napkin at him. His laughter grew into a wide grin. He’d make it up to her later, he thought.
“I’m going to wash my face.” Kimberly said, hurrying off the restroom. Tommy glanced at his watch. 1:15. Luckily, their break period hadn’t been sacrificed to the awkward time change of the first day, so they still had 20 minutes before they had to be back at school.
