He struggled for an excuse, “Stomach cramps. I don’t feel so well, must have been the McDonald’s I ate on the way to school this morning.” He said meekly, trying to keep his up his façade.

Kimberly rolled her eyes at him. She knew he was lying. She knew him better than anyone in this auditorium even realized. And, she was the acting teacher after all.“You’re welcome! You should come by later tonight. Mommy is bringing in a cake and some of my friends are coming too. It’ll be fun!” Jayden smiled again.

“What time is it going to be?” asked Kimberly.        Stephen looked up as the doors to the bridge opened and Diskette's ovoid body flew into the room. "Well?" he asked. 'Are they okay?"

         "Apparently not," Diskette replied. "Do you two know anything about 'Animal Totems'?"

         The green and white Rangers shook their respective heads.

         "Well, it's evidently some sort of mythology from Tommy's world that turned out to be true. Within every sentient being is the spirit of an animal that acts as some sort of guide."

“I dunno. Ask mommy. She knows everything!”

“It’ll be around 7:30 this evening, Kimberly,” answered his mother with a smile.

“Thanks. I should be going back to my room. I’m feeling a little tired and I don’t know if my mom is back yet or not. Bye Jayden,” called Kimberly.

“Jayden, I’m going to walk Kimberly back to her room. You wait right here until I come back before you go wandering off again,” warned his mother.

“All right mommy!”

Tommy caught Kimberly’s look and glared. She knew she shouldn’t help him out, seeing as he was desperately trying to avoid her at all costs, but she felt sorry for him.

“Ms. Randall, if it’s all the same to you, perhaps I can be reassigned a new senior teacher to shadow, as Dr. Oliver doesn’t seem fit to guide anyone around today.” She asked sweetly. Tommy knew better. He heard how she punched the last few words to emphasize his incompetence.
